Sant'Appiano (Chianti, near Florence)

Apartments in the Chianti , with swimming pool

6 apartments in the hamlet of Sant’Appiano. Simplicity and tranquility of rural life with rhythms that are dependent on nature.

This small but ancient farming estate produces Chianti wine, olive oil and grappa. The farm is situated next to the Romanesque church of Sant’ Appiano, built in the 9th century, and offers a beautiful view over the surrounding Tuscan hills as far as San Gimignano.

The farm is hidden in the Tuscan countryside among the small and winding roads that are typical of the Chianti area. They lead to corners and areas that have remained as in former times: ruins of rural houses along the way, ancient churches such as Sant’Appiano, medieval hamlets such as Linari, at 1 km from the farm.

The apartments were restored during the years: two are in the main farmhouse, two in another house inside the hamlet, and four are situated in the barn close to the swimming pool. The simple style of the apartments, equipped with simple Tuscan furniture, will let you spend a holiday immersed in Tuscan rural life.

Barberino Val D’Elsa with shops and a bank is at 4 km, Poggibonsi, a bigger village with a supermarket, at 6 km, San Gimignano is at 15 km distance, Florence at 35 km and Siena at 40 km.

A swimming pool (6 x 12 m, max. depth 1,40 m) for all the guests is situated among the olive trees at 500 m from the main farmhouse.

In the fattoria (farm)

1 – Girasole (60 sq.) - for 2-4 pers.
Ground floor: large living room with fireplace and double sofa bed and kitchen corner  (fridge, two ring gas burner), double bedroom, bath with shower. Private entrance shared with another resident family and small furnished garden.

2 – Edera (35 sq.) - for 2-3 pers.
Ground floor: kitchen (fridge, two ring gas burner) with single sofa bed, double bedroom, bath with shower. Private entrance and small and equipped garden. Private parking place.

3 / 4 – Rosa / Fiordaliso (65 sq.) - for 4 pers.
Ground floor: living room with fireplace and kitchen corner (fridge, two-ring gas burner), double bedroom, twin-bedded room, bathroom with shower. Independent entrance, situated in one of the houses of the farm within the hamlet on the little square of Sant’Appiano. Small private outside area (furnished).

In the barn

The barn, situated near the main farmhouse, was the last building to be restored. It is divided into four apartments, with simple Tuscan furniture, but with all comforts for a holiday in nature. The house is on a slight grade, so that all the apartments are situated on a ground floor. Outside of each apartment there is a terrace with tables and chairs for outdoor relaxation and dining. From the barn, access to the swimming pool is through a small gate and down the path through the fields.

7 / 8 Lavanda / Gerbera (50 sq.)  - for 2-4 persons
In the barn – recently restored – close to the swimming pool.
Ground floor: living room with double sofa bed, fire place and kitchen corner (fridge, 2 ring gas burner), double bedroom, bath with shower. Seperate entrance and terrace equipped with chairs and table.
