Montescalari (Chianti, near Florence)

This ancient 18th century villa is situated in the very heart of the Chianti region, among the evergreen olive and cypress trees. It is surrounded by the typical Tuscan hills that extend until the horizon and offer an enchanting view.

From the “Chiantigiana” road, the ancient road leading from Florence to Siena, there is a small and curving road that goes up through a wooded area. From here, there is very narrow pathway that reaches the hilltop on which the villa is situated.

The nearest villages are about 6 km distance: San Polo in Chianti and Strada in Chianti, with several stores, banks and a number of family-run restaurants. Greve in Chianti, the famous town of the Chianti wine, is only 12 km distance. Florence is 20 km away.

A garden that extends over several terraces surrounds the house. It is equipped with elegant garden furniture as well as with table-tennis and a barbecue and offers the possibility of a relaxing holiday. The swimming pool (12 x 5 m), at 100 meters from the villa, is perfectly inserted into its surroundings and offers a magnificent view on the Castle of Sezzate. The villa with its classical structure and antique furniture has also a lovely inner court yard with a lovely well.

Villa Montescalari is partly situated on the slope of the hilltop and extends itself over three levels.

The ground floor consists of garages and storage rooms used by the owner that are not at the disposal of guests.

First floor: Spacious living-room with fireplace, studio with library and fireplace, double bedroom with baldachin bed, bathroom with tub, dining-room, and exit through a staircase to the inner court yard.

Second floor: double bedroom with an extra bed, bathroom with bathtub, 2 twin-bedded rooms, bathroom with small tub, dining-room, fully equipped kitchen (including washing machine and dishwasher), outside terrace, with a delightful dining area and a marvellous view.
